Nike Flyknit is built to provide strength, breathability and flexibility, all in one. It uses high-strength fibers to remain strong in targeted areas. But it’s not rigid because its light yarn replaces the standard gluing and stitching that is found on most sneakers.
The Air Jordan 1 Flyknit features hits of premium leather (the Swoosh, Wings and Nike Air logos), a mainstay of previous AJ1 releases. Other than that, the AJ1 has been completely updated. A Nike Zoom Air unit has been added to the heel and the rest of the sneaker is covered in Flyknit. The AJ1, of course, is among Michael’s most popular silhouettes. The NBA initially banned him from wearing them because they broke the dress code. But between Michael’s aerial showmanship and his refusal to stop wearing them, the 1 launched His Airness into both the sneaker and basketball stratosphere. The 1 has become a cultural staple, transcending the hardwood.

Virgil Abloh’s OFF-WHITE label will be collaborating with Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 1 Chicago for an official OFF-WHITE Air Jordan 1 Chicago release. There’s no doubt that this collaboration is truly a one-of-a-kind design on the iconic silhouette. This Air Jordan 1 uses a constructed build that pretty much mixes both the Air Jordan 1 High Ultra and Deconstructed tooling. The high-top sneaker comes dressed in familiar Red, White and Black Chicago Bulls-inspired color scheme. Its branded with OFF-WHITE for Nike tagging on the medial side, along with a unique Nike Swoosh logo and “AIR” branding on the midsole. Other notable details include branding on the laces and the year ’85 on the inner ankle flap. It’s especially appropriate that the white and red upper channels the classic “Chicago” Jordan 1 colorway, which is also being revisited in the upcoming “Homage to Home” sneakers pairing it with the equally iconic “Banned” colorway. The sneakers also come with four sets of laces: black, white, lime green and orange. Each has “SHOELACE” in quotes printed on it. Other touches of Abloh’s design philosophy can be seen in the bricolage-esque approach to the Swoosh construction, as well as the OFF-WHITE zip tie attached to the shoe’s collar. Even the box the shoes come in mirrors the deconstructionist approach to the sneakers, with the entire box turned inside-out resulting in a plain cardboard on the outside and nods to the classic Jordan shoe box on the inside.
2013 was the last time the Air Jordan 1 ‘Shadow’ was released to the public and now rumors are swirling that the beloved Air Jordan classic will be released again in 2018. At one point sneakerheads believe we might possibly see this shoe release this year but Jordan Brand quickly dispelled that thought, but now it looks like 2018 is the year for the return of the ‘Shadow’ 1. The Air Jordan 1 ‘Shadow’ is expected to release in May of 2018 for $160 USD. This shoe features a black premium leather upper with accents of ‘Shadow’ grey. This shoe is finished off with black laces and a white mid-sole. The Shadow Air Jordan 1 High is another release that was rumored for 2018. I felt the same way about this release as I did about the Black/Cement 3, so I waited patiently for confirmation. I got it, and now I feel comfortable publishing confirmed info that Shadow 1s will release next year. However, I was told that Steel Jordan 10 and White/Red Jordan 14 dropping next year are just rumors. That’s the main reason why I just wait nowadays. I remember my early days of reporting where I was so pressed to be the first site to post info whether it was confirmed or rumored. You live and you learn, so I just wait it out now. I do miss leaking info, but it’s tricky now because of relationships.
